Memorial Gifts & Donations

Norfolk- Altamease J. Arnold, 86, passed away January 5, 2023.

“Mom, I must first thank you. A girl born in Belle Glade, FL on December 13th, 1936. You had to stop schooling in the 2nd grade to work in the fields alongside your grandmother and grandfather, JC and Lena Spear. Eventually you started having children at a very young age, seven by this time. Despite this you took a huge leap of faith, trusting in your God and moved to NJ. Then you met my father, Ronald Arnold Sr. Not long after that the blessing came, Me LOL. As your son I was blessed with 53 years to have you as my mother, advisor, disciplinarian. Most importantly introducing me to God. All the things that a loving mother should do. You came to live in VA with us in 2008. It has been the biggest honor and blessing to have you right here with me and Jenny. You finished the race with love and peace. I will always keep your faith and memory alive. Ascended 1-5-2023. Thank you, Mom, I love you eternally.

Ronald E Arnold Jr, your 8th son.”

Mrs. Arnold, my neighbor who became my friend , my friend who became like a sister. We affectionately called” Mama”. She would call out from the door: Okay guys time to go in ,it’s hot outside that’s enough yard work for today. Just like a mom always caring and loving. Everyone loved her and she loved them back! People would drive by honk the horn and wave. She was always willing to help anyone. She loved God and she loved life making no excuses for being human. Our family will miss her. She touched the hearts of our children and… Read more »

Mrs Altamese Arnold happened to be my aunt to me when I reared and visited her and all alpha sons. Edward, Herman and Little Ronnie were still my weekend wolf packs. I cannot forget how much love and discipline I have been under her nose! I have been regretting to not see her much because of her true heart of love in us.

I am praying for her blessing forgiveness and not forget about us.

You will have a nice heart in heaven paradise. 🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽

Mrs. Altamese was one of the Hyatt Court mothers that I’ve know most of my life I remember her from when she lived at 72 Hawkins Court on the 2nd floor and was best friends with my godmother Evelyn. As I got older, she moved around the corner with her husband Mr. Ronnie and all her sons. she was a wonderful woman who looked after all of us kids. She was a very caring lady who became my mother’s friend in their later years. After my mom passed away Ms. Altamese would drive up from VA to see her family… Read more »
