Barbara “Penny” L. Pond, 86, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Penny, as she was known, was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church and many dear friends.
She dedicated her life as a teacher and retired from Norfolk City Public Schools. She was the daughter of Norry and Ruth Pond.
Penny’s love of conversation with friends gave her much enjoyment throughout her life. We will keep her stories and memory in our hearts. No services are scheduled at this time. Condolences may be expressed at www.candfservices.com.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with “Penny” for many years. She was a devoted educator and could really tell a good story. May she rest in peace.
Ms Pond was my 6th grade teacher at Lindenwood Elementary in 1966/67. She was one of my favorite teachers. She taught the class ASl
L and encouraged us to read the newspaper every morning. My heart is sad to learn of her passing.
