Barbara Jane Robbins, or Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on April 7, 2022, in her home.  She was 86.  Barbara was born in Manchester, PA, the daughter of the late George and Miriam Strausbaugh.  She graduated from Manchester High School in 1954 and soon after enlisted in the Navy, becoming a WAVE.  After the Navy, she married, had two children, and worked for several banking/ mortgage institutions.  She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, fine chocolate, and a good cup of tea, but she loved reading most of all.  She encouraged and nurtured that love of reading in many others throughout her lifetime.

Surviving her is her daughter, Melanie R Pancho (Ben A Pancho), and two grandchildren, Benjamin G Pancho and Rebecca F Pancho.  Also surviving her are three siblings, David Strausbaugh, Donna Strausbaugh and Carol Marymont.  Preceding her in death were her son, Mark D. Robbins, and her brother, Gerald Strausbaugh.

Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater is handling arrangements.  As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service.  Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Manchester at a later date.
