Memorial Gifts & Donations

Norfolk- Carol Ann Joyner, 75, passed away February 23, 2023.

Carol is survived by her brother John Shattuck Jr., daughters Christina Joyner, Heather Joyner, and son Michael Joyner. Grandchildren Christie Robinson, Barry Creech Jr., Alex Joyner, and 2 great grandchildren Aubrey and Ezra Robinson.

She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Westminster Chapter #99 of Norfolk Virginia for 21 years as well as an active member of the order of Amaranth. She was a former lady in waiting at a select few deli/restaurants in Norfolk. Her hobbies included making jewelry with her best friend Sharon Bidwell from beach glass that she collected with loved ones. She took many into her home who needed stability, raised children along with helping them get back on their feet. Always a beautiful smile that was contagious. Never complained once, and the fact that we have to say goodbye to the coolest, strongest, most awesome and amazing woman. It just breaks so many hearts. Those who ever met her would agree hands down what a beautiful kind hearted soul she was. She was loved by many, she would have done anything for her family or anyone she met. Diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2021, she fought a long hard fight. She would also make hats out of yarn and knit them for fellow cancer patients. Bless her heart and the path that she leads. May she rest in peace so may it ever be.

Memorial services will be held at the Masonic temple 1125 Hugo Street in Norfolk, Virginia 23513 March the 12th 2023 at 3p.m.

Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater is assisting her family. Condolences may be expressed at CandFServices.com.

I was sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. She was a very good friend both her and your father. We used to spend Sunday afternoons watching football and talking skip on the CB radio. She took care of the Eastern Star rights when my mother died in 17 and I was very thankful for her doing so. Hopefully we will all be united in the the hereafter when we’re all gone. She was a very special lady.

My dear friend ..there’s a hole in my heart with your passing. My closest friend since Granby High School in the early 60’s. Marriages, jobs and moving around separated us at times but it was like we’ve never been apart when we re-conected. I’ll miss you but will never forget you.

Carol has been a part of my life since I was born. She was an amazing woman. I’m going to miss her so much, but in my heart I feel that she is happy and healthy with Pat again and they are looking down on us. She will forever be in my heart.
