Memorial Gifts & Donations

In loving memory of Christine Denise Jackson, a resident of Yorktown, Virginia, she returned home to the Lord on January 16, 2024. She was born on October 19, 1954, in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Christine’s radiant spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her infectious joy and warm smile left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. While she pursued many passions throughout her lifetime, her greatest accomplishment was her family. A devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, Christine embraced a multitude of roles in the lives of her loved ones. Among these, she found profound joy as a grandma and Gigi to her eleven grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love, warmth, and steadfast support provided will forever be a part of the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. As we say our goodbyes to an extraordinary woman, we warmly remember Christine for the love she generously shared and the brightness she brought into our lives.

Christine is preceded in death by her loving husband, George James Jackson Jr., mother, Estelle Wunschel, sister, Lori Dufresne, daughter, Bethany Ann Jackson, and grandson Zachary Howell. She leaves behind her father William Wunschel, sister, Linda Royer (husband, Dale), brother, Steven Wunschel (wife, Elaine), and her two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Wilson (husband, John Wilson) and Beatrice Estelle Mclean. Her legacy will continue through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bethany Combs (daughter, Aria Heimbach), Joshua Jackson, Michael Combs Jr., Candice Howell (children, De’ante Hodges, Kingston Hodges, Elijah Durant, and Eva Durant), and Matthew Hill. Additionally, Christine is cherished and remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews.

As we say goodbye to Christine, let us carry forward the warmth of her love and the enduring impact of her presence. In the foundation of our existence, she leaves behind treasured memories and a legacy of family bonds that will continue to thrive. May the love she shared and the light she brought to our lives serve as a comforting beacon in the days ahead. A funeral to commemorate her life will take place on a future date. Let us honor her memory by finding solace in the beautiful moments she created and in the lives she touched. May Christine rest in eternal peace, and our collective memories of her bring comfort during this time of sorrow and farewell.

Christine will forever be my 2nd mom. She always welcomed me at her home growing up and I remember she would always say “you don’t need to knock just come in, your family.” Her warm hugs, talks, letters, cards, and so much more will be missed. Thinking of the whole family at this time.
