David K. Hillquist, 88, born on September 14, 1932 passed away peacefully on August 29, 2021 with his wife Shirley by his side.   After three months of illness our Lord and Savior called him home.  

David was in the Army from 1956 – 1961, then attended Central Bible College.   He worked for C & O Railroad before heading to Washington DC to work as a Systems Analyst for the Navy Dept.   After several years working in DC, he moved his family to Virginia Beach to open Wild ‘n’ Wavy Bumper Boats.    He was in the self-storage business before retirement.

David and Shirley are members of Trinity Church.   David was known for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ any chance he could.   Throughout the years he has been active in the church in many ways.  He has been a deacon, singles leader, mentor and choir member, oh how he loved to sing.     

David is survived by his wife, Shirley of 59 years.   Children Dennis Hillquist of Richmond, VA, Pam Farraher (Glenn) of Virginia Beach,  4 grandchildren, Lauren (Jake), Mathew, Aaron and Adam and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held, Friday, September 3rd, 2021 at 2:00pm at Trinity Church, 401 35th Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.   Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.  

The burial will be at Albert G Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
