Chesapeake- Larry Thurston, 71, passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, March 11, 2022. Larry was born in Norfolk, VA to the late John Thurston, Sr. and June Sandsvick Thurston. He is also predeceased by his nephew, Jason Thurston and nieces, Holly Boyd and Shannon Cofer. He is survived by his wife, Judith Cannon Thurston; children, Tori and Heather Thurston; granddaughter, Rowan Taylor; sister, Cheryl Firster (David); brother, John Thurston (Linda); niece, Stephanie and nephews, Nathan and Scott.
Larry retired from the City of Virginia Beach after 30 years of service in the Real Estate Assessor’s Office, ending his tenure as the Assistant Real Estate Assessor. He enjoyed hunting, sailing, traveling, playing his guitars, and spending time with his family.
There will be a graveside service starting at 2pm, Friday, March 25, 2022 at Charity United Methodist Church. The address is 4080 Charity Neck Rd. Virginia Beach, VA 23457. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Real Life Christian Church. 900 Centerville Turnpike N., Chesapeake, VA 23320.

Thurston Family, Larry had the most beautiful smile in the office. It’s about 17 years since I’ve seen Larry, We worked together in Virginia Beach, he always had funny stories.
