Lillian Juanita “Plum” Pearce, 90 of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on July 13, 2021 with her family by her side. She was lovingly known by family and friends as “Polly.”

Polly was preceded in death by her parents Elsie and Jerry Plum, her sister Elizabeth Griffin, and her two brothers Jerry and Herbert Plum.

She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, James C. Pearce, and their very special dog Jamie. Her four children, Sandra Winslow (Phillip), Cindy Ford (Gary), Janet Mansfield (Robert), and James “Jimbo” Pearce (Pamela). She also leaves her legacy to 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as one brother, James Plum (Peggy) of California.

Polly loved hosting family events, shag dancing with her beloved husband James, and volunteering her time to mentor and provide scholarship opportunities to young women through her work in pageantry. She owned and operated hair salons for over 40 years, and she served as the local director of the Miss Virginia Beach Scholarship Program and other local preliminaries for over 50 years.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
