Memorial Gifts & Donations

Virginia Beach- Sharon Wood Smith went home to be with her Lord, sons and parents –as well as other friends and loved ones on April 25, 2022.

Sharon was born August 14, 1949, in Albany NY to Frances Benton Wood and Francis Turrell Wood. She lost both parents within six weeks of each other in 1979.

She graduated from Princess Anne High School in Va. Beach in 1967.

Sharon is survived by her wonderful husband of 53 years, Jerry Wayne Smith, daughter in law Brandy Tuck Smith and her sons Wyatt Allen, Owen Riley and daughter Laylah Nicole. She is also survived by her “very special Blessing” of a daughter, Kaye Skurpski Ralston, her husband Brent Ralston, and their daughters Cayla Breanne, Aurora Janelle, Jada Lynn and son Michael David.

Sharon is predeceased by her first-born son, Jerry Wayne (Scooter) Smith II, who went home in 1989 at the age of 18. He was a true gift from God and went to be with Him when his mission on earth was done. Her “mama’s baby”, Jason Allen Smith went home November 26, 2014, another gift from God.

Sharon is also survived by her best friend and sister Bonita Wood Lewis, and her children Heather, Shannon, Christian, Kyle, and Ryan, as well as Heather and Shannon’s husbands’ children.

She was a secretary by trade and had worked for CBN and the Family Channel, as well as many other volunteer jobs over the years in the churches she attended.

She was a born again, Spirit filled Christian.

If Sharon could say anything to you today, it would be to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior because there is no other way to get to Heaven. It is also the best way to live on this Earth.

“Miss me, but don’t cry for me. I’ll see you soon.” Sharon

My heart goes out to you Gerry. Sharon was a beautiful Godly Lady. Always willing to love and serve her Lord in whatever He asked Her to do. She lived a rich life in the things that truly matter. That is how I will always remember her. Peace and Prayers🙏🏻
